Catholic church of St. Mary - a religious building in Lviv ( Ukraine ), a monument of architecture. Located on the street. Snezhnaya, 2. Now belongs to the UGCC and is called the Temple of the Mother of God of Unremitting Help .
It was founded by German colonists in the XIV century near the commercial square of ancient Lviv. First mentioned in documents in 1352 . The original appearance was greatly changed by subsequent adjustments. Significant restorations were carried out in 1623 and 1683 , in 1888 - 1892 the church was rebuilt by the architect Julian Zakharevich .
After the reconstruction, the church became one-nave, basilic type with an elongated altar, a square narthex and a square two-tier bell tower. Previously, the interior had frescoes painted in 1750 - 1751 by S. Stroinsky. In their place in the XIX century, the artist E. Lepshy performed new, imitating mosaics.
