Kevin Knox ( born Kevin Knox ; born August 11, 1999 , Phoenix , Arizona , USA ) is an American professional basketball player who plays for the team of the New York Knicks National Basketball Association . Prior to joining the NBA, he played for the Kentucky Wildcats University of Kentucky . He was selected at the 2018 NBA draft in the first round under a common ninth number.

Biography
Kevin Knox was born in Phoenix , Arizona in the family of American football player Kevin Knox. He studied at the Tampa Catholic High School in Florida , where he played for the local basketball team. In 2017, he participated in McDonald's All-American and Jordan Brand Classic tournaments . After graduating from school, Kevin was considered one of the best basketball players in his release and received offers of sports scholarships from universities such as Duke , Florida State , Missouri and North Carolina , but he chose Kentucky [1] . He was also invited by a team from the China Basketball Association , but Knox rejected the offer.
In his debut season for Wildcats, he became the team's most productive player of the season. At the end of the season, he was included in the rookie team and the first team of all the stars of the SEC conference [2] . Wildcats were able to become champions of the conference this season [3] . On April 6, 2018, Knox announced his decision to run for the NBA draft and hired a sports agent, thus refusing further studies at the university.
In the NBA draft of 2018, Knox was selected in the first round under a general 9 number by the New York Knicks Club [4] . Kevin made his NBA debut on October 17, 2018 in a game against the Atlanta Hawks . Leaving the bench, he scored 10 points and made two interceptions [5] . Two days later, in a match against Brooklyn Nets , he scored 17 points and became the team's most productive player [6] . But the very next day he sprained his ankle and missed the next seven games [7] . Returning to the site, Knox already on December 1 set a personal performance record - 26 points [8] . At the end of December 2018, he became the rookie of the month.

Knox won two gold medals at the American Championship among players under 16 years old and at the World Championship among players under 17 years old.
