Yoon John Hwang ( cor. 윤정환 ; February 16, 1973 , Gwangju , Republic of Korea ) is a South Korean footballer who played as a midfielder [2] [3] [4] . At the end of his playing career, he is a coach.

Club career

Born February 16, 1973 in the city of Gwangju . A graduate of the football school of the team of Dong University.

In adult football, he made his debut in 1995 with appearances for the Jeju United club team, in which he took part in nineteen championship matches the same year.

During 1996-1996 he defended the colors of the Bucheon Yukon club team.

His game for the last team attracted the attention of the representatives of the coaching staff of the Bucheon club, which he joined in 1997. He played for the team from Bucheon for the next two seasons of his playing career.

In 2000, he signed a contract with the club “ Cereso Osaka ”, which included spent the next two years of his career as a player. Most of the time spent in the team was the main player in the club.

During 2003, he defended the colors of the Seong Ilhwa Cheonma club team.

Since 2004, for one season he defended the colors of the Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors club team. Playing as a part of this team, basically went to the field in the first team.

In 2006 he moved to the Sagan Tosu club, for which he played one season. The club’s coaching staff was also seen as a “core” player. He completed his professional career as a football player with performances for the Sagan Tosu team in 2007 [5] .

Team appearances

In 1994, he made his debut in official matches as part of the South Korean national team . During his career in the national team, which lasted 9 years, he spent 39 matches in the form of the country's main team, scoring 3 goals.

As part of the national team, he participated in the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2000 in the USA , the Asian Football Cup 2000 in Lebanon , where the team won bronze medals, as well as the 2001 Confederations Cup in Japan and South Korea and the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea .

Coach Career

In 2008, he began his coaching career as a coach of the youth team of the Sagan Tosu club, where he worked during 2008. He later headed the clubs Sagan Tosu, Ulsan Hyundai and Cereso Osaka .
