History
The Volchansky meat-packing plant was established in 1926 as a result of the association of meat-processing enterprises of the city (the city slaughterhouse , sausage factory, poultry plant and refrigerator built in 1911) [2] .
During the Great Patriotic War during the hostilities of 1941-1943. and during the German occupation of the city, the plant was destroyed, but after the liberation of the city in February 1943, its restoration began. In the summer of 1943, the meat processing plant resumed operation [2]
In 1948, the plant resumed the industrial production of sausages.
In accordance with the sixth five-year plan for the development of the national economy of the USSR , the technical re-equipment of the plant began in 1956, during which a refrigeration workshop was built for 132 tons of simultaneous storage of meat products, the meat and fat workshop was reconstructed (whose production capacity increased to 10 tons per shift), the slaughter workshop poultry and sausage shop [2] .
In Soviet times, the plant (together with six other meat processing plants in the region, the Kharkov poultry plant and 17 procuring state farms providing them with activity) was part of the Kharkov regional production association of the meat industry [3] and was one of the leading enterprises in the city [2] [4] [5] [6] .
After the independence of Ukraine, the meat processing plant was transferred to the communal property of the Kharkov region [3] .
In May 1995, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the decision on the privatization of the meat processing plant during 1995 [7] . Subsequently, the state-owned enterprise was transformed into an open joint stock company .
The plant ended 2000 with a loss of 168 thousand hryvnias , 2001 - with a loss of 114 thousand hryvnias [8] .
In the spring of 2002, the company Agro-Trade Trading House LLC became the owner of the plant [9] , after which the enterprise was reorganized into a limited liability company [10] .
In 2007 [1] - 2008 reconstruction of sausage production was carried out at the meat processing plant, as a result of which in May 2008 a production complex of dried sausages (6 smoking chambers with a capacity of about 5 tons each and 5 drying chambers with a capacity of about 30 tons of finished products each) manufactured by Doleschal GmbH ( Austria) with a total value of 2.5 million euros [10] and the refrigeration and compressor system was modernized (the ammonia previously used as a refrigerant was replaced with freon-22 and freon-507) [11] .
The economic crisis that began in 2008 complicated the situation of the enterprise, if in 2008 the volume of production of dried sausages was 12 tons per shift [10] (and in 2008 the plant finished with a profit of 193.1 million hryvnias) [12] , then by March 31 2009 decreased to 5 tons. In addition, by this time, in connection with a reduction in the number of livestock in the Kharkiv region, a shortage of raw materials for the meat industry had arisen [10] . As a result, the plant ended 2009 with a net loss of 50 thousand hryvnias [12] .
In 2010, the plant reduced its net income by 37.8% (to 59.35 million hryvnias), but ended the year with a net profit of 200 thousand hryvnas [12] .
