Caral ( French Karal ) is a city and suprefecture in Chad , located in the Hajer Lamis region . It is part of the Dagan Department.

Geographical position
The city is located in the western part of Chad, south of Lake Chad , at an altitude of 297 meters above sea level [1] . The village is located at a distance of approximately 79 kilometers northwest of the country's capital N'Djamena .
Population
According to the official census of 2009, the population of Karal was 48 016 people (24 895 men and 23 121 women). The population of the prefecture according to the age range was as follows: 52.6% - residents under 15 years old, 42.9% - between 15 and 59 years old and 4.5% - aged 60 years and older [2] .
