Career
In 2012, Miguel, as an international free agent, signed a contract with the Toronto Blue Jays . Castro spent the signing bonus of $ 43,000 to pay for his parents. He began performing in the club system at the age of 17 in the A-League at Dunedin Blue Jays. Miguel received an invitation to gatherings as part of the main team in the spring of 2015 together with his friend Roberto Osuna [1] . According to the results of spring training, Castro got a place in the team’s bullpen [2] . On April 6, 2015, Miguel entered the field in the eighth inning of the game with the New York Yankees , won by the Canadian team with a score of 6: 1. He became the youngest pitcher in club history, playing 103 days at the age of 20, and broke Victor Cruz 's record set in 1978. Two days later, this achievement surpassed Osuna [3] . On April 9, Castro was named the team’s closer instead of the unsuccessful season Brett Cecil [4] . In this role, he went on the field until April 28 [5] . On May 3, the club management sent Miguel to the Buffalo Bizons farm club [6] .
On July 28, the Blue Jays were exchanged by Castro and three other Colorado Rockies players for Troy Tulowicki and Latroy Hawkins [7] . Miguel stayed in the Rockies system until April 2017, playing for the club in 24 matches, also playing for the Albuquerque Isotopes farm club [8] [9] .
On April 7, 2017, Castro was taken from the rejection draft by the Baltimore Orioles club [10] . In August 2017, Baltimore head coach Buck Showalter announced that he was considering Miguel Castro as one of the team's possible starting pitchers for the 2018 season [11] .
