David S. Polland ( born David S. Polland , June 24, 1908 [1] or 1915 [2] - not earlier than the late 1970s [1] ) is an American chess player of Jewish origin .

Best known as the winner of the American Chess Federation ( US Open ) championship in 1937. A year later he became a bronze medalist in a similar tournament.

In 1938, he shared 1-2 places in the championship of the Marshall Chess Club in New York with F. Marshall himself.
Twice (in 1938 and 1940) participated in US championships .
