Hugo Schlemüller ( German: Hugo Eduard Schlemüller ; October 2, 1872 , Königsberg - August 7, 1918 , Bad Orb ) - German cellist and composer. The son of a pianist and music critic Heinrich Gustav Schlemüller (1841-1900), maternal grandson of the organist Heinrich German Wechter .

Since 1881 he lived in Leipzig , studied at the University of Leipzig. Got his musical education at the Gotha Conservatory under the direction of cellist Louise Wandersleb-Patzig , then improved his skills with Alvin Schroeder and Julius Klengel . He played in the Munich Kaim Orchestra , then in the Hans Winderstein Leipzig Orchestra, toured as a soloist in Germany and Russia. In 1898, Mr .. settled in Frankfurt am Main , taught at the Hoch Conservatory .
He wrote two concerts and a number of chamber plays for his instrument, and also composed songs. Several Schlemuller miniatures, in particular the Perpetuum mobile from The Very First Pieces for Young Cellists ( German Die allerersten Vortragsstueckchen des jungen Cellisten ) Op.19 (1912), remain in the repertoire of beginner instrumentalists.
Published as a music critic, including in the magazine Signale für die musikalische Welt . In 1910, he founded his own music publishing house, published several of his books in it, including a report on the Italian tour of the Cologne Male Singing Society .
