Osvaldo Ibarra ( Spanish: Oswaldo Ibarra ; September 9, 1969 , Ibarra , Ecuador ) is an Ecuadorian footballer who played as a goalkeeper for the national team of Ecuador and a number of clubs.

Club career
He began his football career in 1989 at Olmedo , from where he moved to El Nacional the following year. At first he trained with the first team, and performed in the youth. It was in El Nacional that he spent most of his career [1] . Until 1994, he was the reserve goalkeeper of the club, and became the main goalkeeper in 1995 . In 1996, for the second time in his career, he became the winner of Serie A. In 1998, together with El Nacional, he reached the 1/2 final of the Merconorte Cup . In 2005, together with the team, he became the winner of Klausura. In total, FC El Nacional played 464 matches in Ecuadorian Serie A. He played for the team from Quito the next seventeen seasons of his playing career. Most of the time spent in the team was the main goalkeeper.
In 2008 he moved to Deportivo Quito [2] . In the same year, the team won the national championship, for the first time in 40 years. In 2008, he participated in the South American Cup. During his career he performed under the 12th game number. This club has established itself as one of the best football goalkeepers in Ecuador .
Ibarra moved to Imbaburi at the beginning of the 2011 season to help the team maintain a place in Serie A, however, due to a series of unsuccessful matches and managerial problems, the task was not completed. In the same year he moved to the club " Independente del Valle ".
He completed his professional playing career at the Juvenile Clan club, for whose team he played during 2013-2014.
In total, in Ecuadorian Serie A he played more than 600 matches.
Team Career
On February 5, 1997, he took part in the national team of Ecuador in a lost (1: 3) friendly match against Mexico . During his career in the national team, which lasted 8 years, he spent 28 matches in the form of the country's main team.
As part of the national team, he participated in the 1997 American Cup in Bolivia , the 1999 American Cup in Paraguay , the 2001 American Cup in Colombia , the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea , the 2004 American Cup in Peru .
