Architecture

The residential complex has significant historical and architectural value, represents one of the options for embodying the idea of a social city, which was actively developed by architects of constructivism. The complex, which has been under construction for a long time, is an integral town-planning composition, in the methods of spatial planning of which the forms of constructivism and Soviet neoclassicism were embodied [3] .

The complex is located in the northern part of Kamensk-Uralsky, in the Sinarsky district, close to the Sinarsky pipe plant [1] .

In 1932, the specialists of Sirastroy developed a master plan for the social city. The planning used new, at that time, methods of development: line and quarter buildings, wide landscaped highways and a network of cultural facilities. In the initial plan, Sozgorod occupied a smaller area compared to the final one. Trubnaya Street was central, divided the complex into two blocks and led through the park to the factory entrance. Karl Marx Street divided the complex into eastern (residential) and western (park) zones [1] .

During the construction period of the 1935-1940s, the final space-planning structure of the central part of the complex was formed. Belyaev Square is the center and landmark for the hotel, the palace of culture, shops and residential buildings. During the development, zoning of the microdistrict was observed: in the north- and south-west residential areas, in the northeast educational buildings, in the southeast public cultural and recreation buildings, a stadium and sports courts [1] .

From the south to the square there is a wide Karl Marx street, on which a shopping arcade is located. Outbuildings are hidden inside neighborhoods. Regular rectangular blocks overlook the red line of the streets. The corners of the quarters are accented by higher corner buildings. Residential neighborhoods have their own internal compositional axis, strictly symmetrically organizing the space. On the internal axes, as a rule, children's institutions are located. Much attention was paid to the primary spatial element of the living environment - the yard. The yards were small in size, with a closed or semi-closed character, were decorated with sculptures and small architectural forms: fountains, decorative fencing (now lost) [1] .

The residential complex included public buildings: a hotel with a dining room, a boiler room, six kindergartens, two schools, a club, a stadium, an ice court, a bathhouse, a hospital, a built-in station for young technicians, an indoor market, built-in shops and a pharmacy [1] .
