Geography

It is located in the northeast of Dmitrovsky district, 15 km north-east of Dmitrovsk in the upper reaches of the Nerussy river. In the village there is a pond on Neruss. To the south-west of Obrateev is the Eagles log [4] . The height of the settlement above sea level is 258 m [5] .

History

It has been mentioned since the 1620s as part of the Glodnevsky camp of Komaritskaya volost as a village with the church of St. Nicholas [6] . Pork Route passed by the village - the road that the Crimean Tatars used to raid Russian lands [7] .

Since 1711, Obrateevo was part of the Moldovan prince Dmitry Kantemir’s patrimony, bestowed on him by Peter I [8] . Until 1778 was part of the Sevsky district . In the years 1778-1782 in the Lugansk district . Since 1782 as part of the Dmitrov district of Oryol province .

In 1853, there were 63 courtyards in the village, 800 people lived (400 male and female) [9] . According to the 10th revision of 1858, the peasants of Obrateeva belonged to Countess Lyubov Alexandrovna Musina-Pushkina. In 1866, there were 65 households in the former owner’s village of ObrateΡ€Π°evo, 797 people lived (390 men and 407 women), 4 oil mills operated [10] . In 1877, there were 87 courtyards in the village, 843 people lived, a school operated. At that time, Obrateevo was part of the Zhikharevsky volost of Dmitrovsky district [11] . At the end of the XIX century, after the abolition of Zhikharev parish, the village became part of the Volkonsk parish . In 1894, Countess L. A. Musina-Pushkina still owned the land in Obrateevo [8] . In 1897, 1030 people lived in the village (483 males and 547 females), the whole population professed Orthodoxy [3] . According to the data of 1897–1910, the landowners in Obrateevo were T. I. Rybalova and Solntsev [8] .

In the First World War, the inhabitants of the village took part: Voronkov Alexander Grigorievich, Gulakov Nikolai Tikhonovich, Dolgov Afanasy Petrovich (? β€”155), Dolgov Egor Dmitrievich, Dolgov Sergey Dmitrievich, Dolgov Stepan Nikolaevich (1896), Izotov Emelian Klimovich and others [12] .

In 1926, there were 180 households in the village (including 178 peasant-type), 976 people (475 males and 501 females) lived, there were: a 1st grade school, an illiteracy eradication station, a red corner, 2 cooperative trade institutions III discharge. At that time, Obrateevo was the administrative center of the Obrateevsky Village Council of the Volkonsky Volost, Dmitrovsky Uyezd [13] . Since 1928 as part of the Dmitrov district. In 1937 there were 159 households in the village [14] . By this time Obrateevsky Village Council was abolished, the village became part of Stolbischensky Village Council . In the 1930s - 1940s, the collective farm β€œMoscow Corner” operated in the village [8] [15] .

During the Great Patriotic War, from October 1941 to August 1943, it was in the zone of the Nazi occupation. The fighting in the Obratyev area was conducted on October 21, 26, 30, 1941 by the 42nd Tank Brigade of the 13th Army and on August 15, 1943 by the 682th Infantry Regiment of the 202nd Infantry Division [16] .

Church of St. Nicholas

In the center of the village there is a dilapidated stone Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker built in 1888-1903. It is a monument of urban planning and architecture of regional importance.
