Biography
Born on June 10, 1966 in Rostov-on-Don .
He graduated from the Biomedical Faculty of the 2nd Moscow Order of Lenin State Medical University. N.I. Pirogov , majoring in Biochemistry.
Since 1992, he has been working at the Central Scientific Research Institute of Epidemiology of the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare , where he currently heads the institute’s largest division, the molecular diagnostics and epidemiology department.
In 2008, he received a Ph.D. specialty "Epidemiology" at the Federal State Institution Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor .
Since 2009, within the framework of the federal target program “National System of Chemical and Biological Safety of the Russian Federation”, the molecular diagnostics and epidemiology department under the leadership of Shipulin G.A. developed dozens of reagent kits and test systems for the molecular diagnosis of dangerous infectious diseases, including socially significant infectious diseases such as HIV and parenteral hepatitis .
With the participation of G.A. Shipulin, enzyme production technologies for molecular diagnostics, oligonucleotide synthesis, original formulations of the main components of PCR test systems were developed, and the country's largest innovative import-substituting high-tech production was created. The production of unique highly sensitive PCR test systems for the qualitative and quantitative identification and genotyping of infectious and parasitic pathogens has been launched.
G.A. Shipulin is one of the main developers of the first domestic regulatory document (guidelines) for work in diagnostic laboratories using the PCR method .
On the basis of the Central Scientific Research Institute of Epidemiology of Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare Shipulin created and led the Center for Molecular Diagnostics of Infectious Diseases ( CMD ).
