Ed III de Blois (died in 1115 ) - Count Troyes ( Ed IV , 1047-1066), Count Mo ( Ed II , 1047-1066), then Count Omalsky (1069-11515). Son of Etienne II, Count Troyes and Mo.

Board

Ed III's father died when he was not yet of legal age, and his uncle, Count Blois of Thibault III , won a regency over his nephew's possessions. In 1060, Ed married Adelaide of Normandy , the widow of Count de Pontier Engerran II and Count Lance and the lord d'Omal Lambert of Boulogne .

In 1066, Ed III accompanied his wife William the Conqueror’s brother in the Norman Conquest of England and participated in the Battle of Hastings . Meanwhile, his uncle, Thibault III, took possession of the champagne possessions of Troyes and Mauses, and Ed received the county of Omal from William in Normandy and seniors Holderness in England.

Suspected of plotting against King William II of Red , Ed was arrested in 1095 .

Family and children

Wife: (since 1060 ) Adelaide of Normandy (c. 1030 - c. 1082), daughter of Duke Robert II the Magnificent and sister of the King of England William the Conqueror . Had one son:

  • Stefan Omalsky (c. 1061 - c. 1127), Count Omalsky.
