The presidential election in Colombia was held on February 10, 1914. [1] In accordance with the constitutional reform of 1910, for the first time since 1860, the president was elected by direct suffrage.

The Conservatives nominated former minister and diplomat Jose Vicente Concha as their candidate, who received the support of part of the liberals led by Rafael Uribe Uribe [2] .
The Republican Union, which was a coalition of liberals and conservatives who opposed the confrontational policies of their parties and supported constitutional reform and the election of President Carlos Eugenio Restrepo in 1910, nominated diplomat and lawyer Nicholas Esgerra [3] .
As a result, conservative candidate Jose Vicente Concha won, receiving 89% of the vote [4] . He was sworn in on August 7, 1914. [5]
