Ernst II ( German: Ernst II ) (c. 1014 - August 17, 1030 ) - Duke of Swabia from 1015 to 1030, representative of the Babenberg dynasty .

The son of Ernst I and the stepson of Emperor Conrad II , with whom the mother of Ernst II, Gisela , entered into a second marriage.
Repeatedly rebelled against his stepfather and in 1030, for refusing to help Conrad II in the war with his disgraced vassal Werner Turgausky, he was deprived of the duchy, after which he lived in the Falkenstein castle in the Black Forest with robberies and robberies. Soon after, Ernst fell in battle. His loyalty to a friend (Werner Turgausky), against whom he did not want to fight, was later glorified in German folk traditions, and his fate received a fabulous appearance in the medieval folk book “Duke Ernst”.
