Biography

Born in a working class family. He began his career at the age of fourteen. He worked as a laborer, engineer at the Dnipropetrovsk Metallurgical Plant.

Member of the CPSU (b) since 1930 .

He worked as secretary of the party organization of the Dnepropetrovsk Car-Building Plant, secretary of the Pologovsky District Committee of the Communist Party (b) of Zaporizhzhya Region.

He studied at the Dnepropetrovsk Metallurgical College and Metallurgical Institute, at the evening university of Marxism-Leninism.

In the autumn of 1939 he was sent to work in the apparatus of the Lviv regional and city committees of the Communist Party (b) U. He worked as the head of the transport department of the Lviv city committee of KP (b) U. In April - June 1941 - Secretary of the Lviv city committee of KP (b) U for industry and transport.

Member of the Great Patriotic War since 1941. He served as deputy political director of the Logistics Directorate of the South-Western Front, a member of the Military Council of the 6th Army of the 1st Ukrainian Front.

In December 1945 - February 1948 - Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Lviv City Council of Workers' Deputies. At the same time, he completed 9-month courses at the Higher Party School of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks.
