He made a significant contribution to the preservation and development of the musical culture of the Serbian folk. Laureate of the Yakub Chishinsky Prize (1978).

Biography

Born in 1944 in the village of Serboluzhitskoy Rogozno in the family of a baker. From the age of five he began his training in playing the piano. At the age of six he entered a music school in Cottbus. From eight years he studied at the Nizhneluzhitsk gymnasium in Cottbus, from which he graduated in 1962. He tried to enter the bibliographic faculty of the Humboldt University of Berlin , but due to the lack of places he entered the faculty of art and the German language at the Pedagogical Institute in Budishin. During the last year of study, he worked as a music playwright in the Serbulugi national ensemble . In 1967, he graduated from the Institute with a degree in German Studies, Pedagogy and Art History. Then he passed urgent service in the rank of corporal in the city police in Budishin (1968-1969).

From 1967 to 1980, he worked as a music playwright in the Serboluzhitsky National Ensemble. Until 1981, he taught music at the Serboluzhitsk Graduate School in Cottbus. From 1970 to 1990 - Scientific Secretary of the Working Group of musicians in the Union of Composers and Musicologists of the GDR (Arbeiterkreises Sorbischer Musikschaffender im Verbande der Komponisten und Musikwissenschaftler der DDR).

Since 1980 - the main musical playwright of the Serboluzhitsky national ensemble and from 1990 to 1995 - the head of this musical group.

Since 1968, was engaged in composing activities. His work includes numerous musical works, including cinematic music, numerous songs and choral works. His works were mainly performed in Lusatia and were associated with the musical culture of the Serbian folk.

In 1978, he was awarded the Yakub Chishinsky Prize for his work.
