Story
On Thanksgiving Eve, four friends gather at Cartman’s house and watch a special issue of the Terrence and Phillip TV show. The episode is interrupted by an advertisement where TV presenter Sally Strazers asks to send donations to the starving children of Africa. Eric makes fun of it, but when they hear that you can get a sports watch as a present, the children make a phone call.
The next day at school, Mr. Harrison announces a canning fee - the children should bring cans with some canned goods that will be distributed to the poor on Thanksgiving (including the Kenny family). Suddenly a flock of ferocious turkeys attacks the class and smashes everything.
After the lessons are finished, the children rush home for a sports watch, but instead of a watch, a small Ethiopian comes to them (the children call him “ether” and draw a conclusion from one of his phrases in a special clattering language that his name is Marvin - Nightmare Marvin , as Eric clarifies ) Marvin really likes the guys, and they decide to keep it for themselves.
Dr. Alphonse Mefesto comes to the mayor’s office and tries to say that the genetically mutated turkeys he created attack the city, but the mayor and his assistants laugh at him. Meanwhile, turkeys are starting to attack people. The children show Marvin in the classroom, but Mr. Harrison says it’s wrong to keep the Ethiopian at home, and writes a report to a special service. When security officers come to the Cartman’s house to pick up Marvin, he sits on the couch and watches TV; they ask if he has seen a gaunt Ethiopian. Marvin points to Cartman, and he is taken to Ethiopia. However, no one sees the difference: Lian communicates with Marvin, as with Eric, he learns several phrases characteristic of Cartman, and Stan , Kyle and Kenny like much more Cartman.
Thanksgiving residents gather in the square. Food is distributed to the poor (according to the assistant mayor, “on the principle of a lottery drum”), during which Kenny gets a can of green beans. Suddenly, turkeys attack people. Panic spreads among the crowd. The mayor screams in hysteria.
An exhausted Cartman suffers without food among the Ethiopians who do not understand him. After a long journey through the desert, he suddenly discovers a building filled with boxes of food. The hostess of the food is Sally Strazers. Cartman invites her to share food with him, but she refuses him. Eric reports this to the Ethiopians.
In South Park , the battle with the turkeys begins. The chef , dressed and painted as William Wallace from Braveheart , gives an inspired speech urging the city's inhabitants to cast off fear and not sparing their lives to engage in battle with birds. The massacre begins (even Ike rips off one bird’s head), during which Kenny dies. Finally, people gain the upper hand. Meanwhile, intelligence officers are returning to the city for Marvin - they finally noticed a mistake. But the young Ethiopian himself wants to return to his homeland.
In the last shots of the episode, Marvin returns to Africa. The turkeys killed in South Park are unloaded from the plane that delivered it. Kindred Marvin exult. In the background, Sally Strazers is tied to a skewer. The family of the deceased Kenny thanks the Lord, who sent them a Thanksgiving dinner for a can of string beans.
Kenny's death
Kenny dies during the battle with the turkeys - they attack him and tear out his eye. When Stan pronounces morality, in the background you can see a rat crawl out of Kenny’s eye socket and run away.
Characters
For the first time in this episode appear:
- Nightmare Marvin
- Stuart McCormick
- Mrs. McCormick
- Kevin McCormick
In the classroom sit (left to right): Wendy ; Bibi Clyde Peep ; Cartman ; Token ; Kevin Kyle Great Dane Pu ; Kenny Stan Annie Berta .
Parodies
- The dialogue between Cartman and Wendy about poor people (ending with Eric's phrase: “Great, let them die to reduce the excess population”) is taken from Dickens ’s book “A Christmas Carol” (Cartman utters remarks belonging to Scrooge). Mr. Harrison knows this - he tells them: "Children, that's enough for Dickens today."
- The clothing and speech of the Chef and the leader of the turkeys parody a similar scene from the movie “ Braveheart ”. A phrase from the same film mimics the statement of the Chef: "Every turkey is mortal, but not every turkey lives for real."
- Cartman’s phrase “My God left me” is a reminiscence of the biblical phrase of Jesus “My God, my God, why did you leave me?”
Facts
- The inscription on the board reads:
- Analogy & comparison
Trees are to bushes as Buildings are to houses
David Duchovny is to tampons as Nougats are to chocolate
- Transfer:
- Analogies and comparisons
Trees for bushes are the same as buildings for houses.
David Duchovny for tampons is the same as nougat for chocolate.
- When turkeys attack a class, you can notice a board with turkeys or turkey poultry and the words “Yummy!” ( English Yum! ). On the other board - the one that hangs at the desks - is the inscription “ Turkey Day Is Coming ” ( Eng. Turkey Day Is Coming ).
- Two lovers who are killed by turkeys at the pond, previously appeared in the background in several episodes.
- Kyle is a Jew , but eats non-kosher food - ham. In many other episodes, you can also notice that the whole Broflovsky family eats non-kosher food (although they are quite religious).
- The phrase "I would give fifty bucks for such a thing," which Pip says about Marvin, he had previously said in the episode " Elephant Making Love with a Pig " about a whiskered elephant.
- Mr. McCormick, who has twice died in previous series, appears again in this series (he stands among people listening to the Chef ). Since Kenny's real father appears here, apparently, Mr. McCormick is not one. Also in the crowd of people going to battle, you can see a man named Johnson, who appeared and turned into a zombie in the episode " Conjunctivitis ."
- Sally Strazers also watches the special issue of Terrence and Phillip.
- When the turkey rips open Kenny's eye, you can see that it is blue.
- On the eve of the episode, comedian agent Jerry Sainfield called Parker and Stone to voice someone in the new episode; he was offered to voice the clucking of one of the turkeys, to be more precise - “Turkey No. 29”. This is reminiscent of how specially invited star George Clooney voiced in episode 104 the dog yapping. However, Seinfield's agent did not appreciate the jokes and rejected the offer [1] [2] .
