Title
Since 1936, the park has been named after Sergei Mironovich Kirov , a Russian revolutionary, a Soviet statesman and political figure [1] .
Location
The park is located in the Kirov Garden microdistrict of the Leninsky district of Novosibirsk. Stanislavsky Street adjoins it on the west side, Trud Square is on the north-west, Shirokaya Street is on the north, the territory with administrative and residential buildings is on the north-east, and Kotovsky Street limits the park on the south.
History
In 1920-1930 it was planned to create a wide park strip along the nearby railway line [1] .
The park is traditionally associated with industrial collectives of enterprises such as the Kuzmin Metallurgical Plant and Sibselmash , for the workers of these plants organized days of collective relaxation [1] .
In 2017, a number of residents of the left bank of Novosibirsk were dissatisfied with the leasing by the city authorities of a plot for building a store on Kotovsky Street near the Metallurg recreation center (the building is located in Kirov Park) [2] [3] .

Sculptural works
- Monument to Kirov - a sculpture by S. M. Kirov, installed probably after 1934. The sculptor is Vera Fedorovna Stein . In the late 1970s. the monument was dismantled, but preserved, in 2006 it was restored and installed in its original place [4] [5] .
- Sundial - a sundial installed in the park in 2008. The author of the object is Viktor Mikhailovich Shkaruba [6] .
Events
The park hosts traditional holidays - Shrovetide , New Year . Spring and autumn meetings of city residents are organized [1] .
