Club career

Pupil of the club " Carmelita ". Most of Lopez spent in one of the strongest Costa Rican teams - “ Alajuelens ”. Together with her, he repeatedly became the champion of the country . In 1998, the midfielder went to Colombia for a while, but without playing a single match for Deportes Tolima , he returned to Alajuelens. In total, Lopez spent about five hundred matches for the club and scored 80 goals.

Team Career

For the Costa Rica national team, Lopez made his debut in 1995. Together with her, he participated in two America's Cups and at the 2002 World Cup . A little earlier, a trip to the mundial, the midfielder, along with the Costa Ricans, became the silver medalist in the CONCACAF Gold Cup in the USA . In total for “tikos” the football player spent 76 games in which he scored six goals.

Coaching

Lopez began his mentor career at the Costa Rican minor league club, Jaco Rice. Six years later - in 2017 - he became the head coach of Alajuelens.
