Biography
David Wootton studied at Ballilola , Oxford and Peterhouse in Cambridge , where he received his doctorate in history. From 1976 to 1982, he was a professor at Westfield College, University of London . He then moved to Canada as an assistant professor at Dalhousie University and was an assistant professor of history there. Since 1987, he worked at the University of Western Ontario , and since 1989 at Victoria University, a professor of history.
In 1995, he returned to London to Brunel University . Since 1998, he has been a professor of intellectual history at Queen Mary's University . Since 2004, he is a professor of history at York University .
