Norbert Oata ( fr. Norbert Hauata , born June 8, 1979 ) is a football referee from French Polynesia .

Career
International Judge since January 1, 2008 . In September of the same year he made his debut in the top division of the country.
Subsequently, he served the UFC Champions League finals three times in a row (2009, 2010 and 2011). In 2011, FIFA was included in the list of referees for the junior world championship in Mexico, where it sued two matches of the group stage.
In April 2012 , FIFA was included in the list of 52 judges for the 2014 World Cup .
In June 2012 , he was the chief referee at the OFK 2012 Nations Cup held in the Solomon Islands . In this tournament, he judged two matches of the group stage and one semifinal.
In October 2013, he left for the second consecutive youth world championship [1] , but this time he also judged only the group stage game.
On January 15, 2014 he was elected to the list of referees for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil , but only as a reserve [2]
In 2016, he was the chief referee at the OFK Nations Cup , where he played three matches, including the final between Papua New Guinea and New Zealand.
In April 2017, FIFA was included in the list of referees at the U20 World Youth Championship in South Korea [3] , where it served one match in the group.
On March 29, 2018, by a decision of FIFA, he was elected the chief arbiter to serve the matches of the World Cup in Russia [4] [5] .
