Jaanus Veensalu ( est. Jaanus Veensalu ; July 29, 1964, Pärnu [1] ) - Soviet and Estonian football player , defender . He played for the national team of Estonia .

Biography

Club career

In the Soviet period, he played for physical education teams in the championship of the Estonian SSR , including the Fish Factory from Pärnu. Twice (1988, 1990) became the winner of the Cup of the Estonian SSR. In 1991, he played in one of the lower divisions of Finland.

In 1992, he made his debut in the top league of the independent championship of Estonia as part of the Pärnu Jak club. Before the 1992/93 season, he moved to Flora , Tallinn, where he spent two incomplete seasons and won gold and silver medals at the championship.

During the 1993/94 season, he returned to Pärnu and played for local teams in the top division and lower leagues. In 1994, a short time again performed in Finland. At the end of his career he played for Tallinn's Eesti Kondis, a team for which veterans of the Estonian team played.

In total, 33 matches were played in the top division of Estonia.

Career in the national team

Participated in unofficial matches of the Estonian national team in 1991 as part of the Baltic Cup.

The first official match for the national team was played on July 11, 1992 against Lithuania [2] , replacing Sergei Ratnikov during the break. The last game was held on June 2, 1993 against Scotland [3] . In total, the defender has 6 official matches for the Estonian national team (none of which has played completely), have not scored goals.
