History

In 1969, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, farm No. 4 of the Prikaspiysky state farm was renamed Kovylnyi [3] .

Geography

Located in the southwestern part of the Caspian lowland, in the Right-Bank Steppe, on the administrative border with Kalmykia . The absolute height is 26 meters below sea ​​level [1] .

National and gender composition

According to the All-Russian Census in 2010 , the population was 77 people (41 men and 36 women, 53.2 and 46.8%, respectively) [5] .

According to the results of the 2002 census , in the national structure of the population, Kazakhs accounted for 78% of 110 inhabitants [7] .

Infrastructure

Developed agriculture. In Soviet times, operated the farm "Caspian".
