BRM-3K "Lynx" (object 501) (Combat reconnaissance vehicle-3) - an armored self-propelled vehicle on a caterpillar track, designed for reconnaissance on the battlefield and artillery reconnaissance as part of ground troops and naval landing units, in any conditions: during the day, at night in rain, snow, fog, with artificial interference, such as a smoke screen, light interference.

Designed by KB "Rubtsovsk Machine-Building Plant" [1] . Adopted by the Russian Federation in 1995 . The BRM-3K was created on the basis of the BMP-3 components, body and chassis [2] . The chassis specially designed for the BRM-ZK was named "Object 501".
For the first time, the BRM-3K was presented to the general public in 1999 at the VTTV-Omsk-99 International Exhibition of High-Tech Equipment and Arms.
The crew of the machine consists of 6 people: the commander of the reconnaissance group, the commander of the machine, gunner, driver, navigator, and also the telegraph and radio communications operator.
The machine is equipped with modern weapons, a modern radar station, a thermal imaging observation device, a laser range finder, night active-pulse and periscopic daytime observation devices, navigation and orientation equipment, an electronic computer for processing information, communications and data transmission. There is equipment for a remote observation post at a distance of 0.5 to 6 km from the car.
Tasks of the BRM-3K Lynx
- Surveillance of the terrain, search and detection of targets.
- Determination of target coordinates with an average error of 20 meters.
- Round-the-clock transmission of information at distances of up to 100 km (while driving) and up to 350 km (at stops).
- Landing from an airplane at 500 and 1500 meters (strictly without crew).
- Firing on targets of ground and air nature at any time of the day, both from a place and in motion.

- 7.62 mm PKT machine gun - 2000 rounds
- ATGM - 4 missiles
It has means of protection against weapons of mass destruction .
