Gennady Borisovich Zaitsev ( June 26, 1954 , Leningrad ) - one of the hippie leaders in the 60-70s, one of the founders and first president of the Leningrad Rock Club (from 1981 to 1982) [1] [2] , director of rock DDT group (from 1985 to 1989) [2] . Creator of the first in the USSR Samizdat rock magazine " Roxy ".

He was known as the holder of an underground home "pop club" since 1973, the organizer of concerts and record creator, distributor of rock music in the Soviet Union and the "chronicler" of the rock movement [2] [3] [4] .
As president, he took to the rock club such groups as " Myths ", " Aquarium ", " Russians ", " Cinema ". The latter at that time was called “Garin and Hyperboloids” - it was in Zaitsev’s apartment that a meeting was held at which the issue of the studio recording of the album “ 45 ” was resolved and the name change of the group was discussed [5] .
In 2019 he released the book “Heavy Dandelions. Chronicle of Past Events ”dedicated to hippies and rock music in the USSR [6] .
