Andetria pestrus [1] ( lat. Neptis andetria ) is a day butterfly from the nymphalide family .

Description
Fore wing length: males 21–27 mm, females 26–29 mm. Wingspan 38–54 mm. The background color of the upper side of the wings is black-brown. Fore wings with a convex outer edge. White spots on the wings are collected in groups, without forming a single transverse band. The central cell of the front wing is crossed by a white ray, somewhat expanding to the apex. This beam is divided into several parts by dark rings. The hind wing is on the upper side with two bandages: the outer one is divided into separate spots by dark veins, and the inner one is wider and curved. The background of the underside of the hind wing is reddish brown. The pattern on the underside of the wings is made up of numerous white spots and bandages that duplicate elements of the upper side; black spots in the basal zone are added to this [1] .
Range
The Russian Far East , Northeast China, and the Korean Peninsula [2] .
Biology
It develops over the course of a year in one generation. Flight time from late June to mid-August. Often found in various types of mixed, mainly mountain forests, forest edges, near shrubberies [2] . The feed plant of the caterpillars is spirea . Pupils on a twig of a feed plant [1] .
