José Batlle Perdomo Teixeira ( Spanish: José Batlle Perdomo Teixeira ; born January 5, 1965 , Salto ) is a former Uruguayan footballer who played as a midfielder for the Uruguayan national team .

Club career
Jose Perdomo began his career as a football player in the Uruguayan club Peñarol . At the end of October 1987, he played for him in all three matches of the Libertadores Cup final against the Colombian “ America ” from Cali [2] [3] [4] . In 1989, Perdomo moved to the Italian Genoa , having played 25 matches for him in Serie A. Perdomo spent the second half of 1990 for the English “ Coventry City ”, and then moved to the Spanish “ Real Betis ”. On March 1, 1991, a Uruguayan made his debut in the Spanish Example , in a principled match with Sevilla . Moreover, Perdomo scored a goal in the Seville derby in the 79th minute, reducing his team’s backlog [5] .
In 1991, the midfielder moved to the Argentine club “ Gimnasia La Plata ”. On April 5, 1992, in a guest match with Estudiantes as part of Klausura , he scored a goal from a free kick from 35 meters in the 54th minute. This event caused an unprecedented delight among fans of Gimnasia, their jumps during the goal celebration caused a push of more than six on the Richter scale recorded by the Seismographic Information Department of the Weather Department at the La Plata Astronomical Observatory. After Perdomo, after that, the nickname Terremoto (earthquake) was fixed [6] .
In 1993, the Uruguayan returned to Peñarol, and in 1995 moved to the Uruguayan Basagnez , where he completed his football career.
Team Career
Jose Perdomo was included in the Uruguayan national team for the 1987 American Football Cup in Argentina. At the tournament, Perdomo played in the semifinals with Argentina and Chile in the finals (Uruguay as the reigning champion started from the semifinals). In the decisive match, Perdomo was removed in the 88th minute [7] , which did not prevent his team from bringing the matter to victory.
At the 1989 American Cup in Brazil, José Perdomo played for Uruguay two matches of the first stage (with Chile and Argentina), as well as all three games of the national team in the final stage (with Paraguay , Argentina and Brazil ) [8] .
At the 1990 World Championships in Italy, José Perdomo entered the starting lineup in all four matches of his team in the tournament: the group stage with Spain [9] , Belgium [10] , South Korea [11] and the 1/8 finals with Italy [12] .
