Felix Victor Riedl - probably the youngest participant in the Polish national uprising of 1863 - took part in it at the age of about 13 years. He fought in a detachment under the command of Marcin Borelevsky in the Lublin province . He took part in several battles. He was wounded and captured by regular troops in a battle on Sovina Gora on September 6, 1863 . In 1864, he was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor and exiled to Tomsk . Perhaps Riedl is also the youngest Polish convict.
When he returned to Poland, he joined the Jesuit Order. Around 1880, he wrote his memoirs. His work Wspomnienie z powstania 1863 roku iz drogi na zesłanie w 1864 roku (Memoirs of the 1863 uprising and the road to exile in 1864) was published in 1891 by Professor Eligiusz Kozlowski .
