Geographical position
The city is located in the northern part of the department, within the Caribbean lowland , on the west bank of , at a distance of about 42 kilometers east of the city of Cartagena , the administrative center of the department. The absolute height is 7 meters above sea level [1] . The municipality of San Cristobal borders in the west and southwest with the territory of the municipality of Soplaviento , in the southeast with the municipality of Kalamar , in the north and northeast with the territory of the Atlantico department. The area of the municipality is 48 km².
Population
According to the National Administrative Department of Statistics of Colombia, the total population of the city and municipality in 2015 was 6,669 people [2] . The dynamics of the population of the municipality by years:

According to the 2005 census, men made up 51.1% of the population of San Cristobal, women - 48.9%, respectively. Racially, whites and mestizos accounted for 72% of the city's population; Negroes , mulattoes and Raysals - 28% [3] . The literacy rate among the entire population was 86.6%.
Economics
77.8% of the total number of urban and municipal enterprises are trade enterprises, 14.8% are service enterprises, 3.7% are industrial enterprises, 3.7% are enterprises of other sectors of the economy [3] .
