The Akatsuki ( 暁 , Zarya) was the twenty-first destroyer of the Fubuki type or the lead ship of the Akatsuki subtype, built for the Imperial Japanese fleet in the interwar period. When they were put into operation, these ships were the most powerful destroyers in the world [1] .

History
Akatsuki, built in Sasebo’s naval arsenal, was the first of the improved Fubuki Type III destroyer destroyer series to include a modified gun turret that could lift its main 3,127 mm artillery. 50 caliber up to 75 °, unlike its predecessor with 40 °, which allows it to be used against aircraft. Akatsuki was laid down on February 17, 1930, launched on May 7, 1932, and put into operation on November 30, 1932.
