Baron Montermar ( English Baron Monthermer ) - an old baronial title, created twice in the system of England Peer , in 1309 and 1326 .

History

The Baron title was first created for Ralph de Montemar (c. 1270-1325), who was called to parliament on March 4, 1309 as Lord Montermar . He was succeeded by his eldest son, Thomas de Montermar, 2nd Baron Montermar (1301-1340). He was succeeded by his only daughter, Margaret de Montermar, 3rd Baroness Montermar (d. 1395). She married John Montague, 1st Baron Montague (c. 1330 - c. 1390), who was recognized as the 3rd Baron Montermar (by right of wife). They were succeeded by their eldest son, John Montague, 4th Baron Montermar and 2nd Baron Montague (c. 1350-1400), who received the title of 3rd Earl of Salisbury in 1397. He was succeeded by his eldest son, Thomas Montague, 4th Earl of Salisbury, 5th Baron Montermar and 3rd Baron Montague (1388-1428). He was succeeded by his only daughter, Alice de Montague, 6th Baroness Montermar (1407-1462). She married Richard Neville, 5th Earl of Salisbury (c. 1400-1460), who became the 6th Baron Montermar (by the right of his wife). She was succeeded by their eldest son, Richard Neville, 16th Earl of Warwick, 6th Earl of Salisbury, 7th Baron Montermar (1428-1471).

A second Baron title was created for Edward de Montermar (d. 1340 ), the youngest son of Ralph de Montermar , who was called to parliament on April 23, 1326 as Lord of Montermar . After his death in 1340, the title was interrupted.

    • John de Montague, 1st Baron Montague (c. 1330–1390), 3rd Baron Montermar (right of wife)
  • John de Montague, 4th Baron of Montermar, 2nd Baron of Montague (c. 1350 - January 5, 1400), the eldest son of the previous one. Since 1397 - 3rd Earl of Salisbury .
  • Thomas de Montague, 4th Earl of Salisbury, 5th Baron Montermar, 3rd Baron Montague (June 13, 1388 - November 3, 1428), the eldest son of the previous
  • Alice de Montague, 6th Baroness Montermar, 4th Baroness Montague (1407 - until December 9, 1462), the only daughter of the previous, the wife of Richard Neville, 5th Earl of Salisbury
    • Richard Neville, 5th Earl of Salisbury (1400 - December 31, 1460), 6th Baron Montermar (as his wife)
  • Richard Neville, 16th Earl of Warwick, 6th Earl of Salisbury, 7th Baron Montemar (November 28, 1428 - April 14, 1471), the eldest son of the previous ones.

  • Edward de Montermar, 1st Baron Montermar (1304–1340), the youngest son of Ralph de Montermar, 1st Baron Montermar (c. 1270–1325).
