Stefan Konstantinovich Karpenko-Karazhelyaskov (party pseudonym Karpenko , real surname Karazhelyaskov ; 1890 , Chumlekoy , Akkerman Uyezd , Bessarabian province - June 10, 1938 , Krasnodar ) - Russian revolutionary of Bulgarian origin, later a Soviet statesman.

Biography

Born in a Bulgarian colony Chumlekoy Ivanovo-Bulgarian volost. In 1918 he graduated from the 4th course of the Agronomy Department of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute. In 1909-1919, he was a member of the party of left-wing socialists-revolutionaries , an activist of its grassroots cells. In 1919 he joined the RCP (b). In the same year - deputy head of the department of city government, a fighter of the labor battalion and a member of the board of the county land department in Proskurov, Kamenetz-Podolsk province .

Since October 6, 1919 - in the Nizhny Novgorod Provincial Administration of Farms of the People's Commissariat of Agriculture of the RSFSR (Gubsovkhoz) [1] . Since October 16, 1919 - Chairman of the National Economy Council of the Nizhny Novgorod Provincial Executive Committee (GIK), from January 24, 1920 - a member of the board of his land department. From May 15, 1920, he was the head of the Soviet department of the land department of the Nizhny Novgorod State Electoral Commission, from January 1922, the deputy head of the land department of the State Electoral Commission, and from March 4, 1922 to December 18, 1922, he was again the head of the Soviet department of the land department of the State Electoral Commission. Candidate member of the Nizhny Novgorod State Electoral Commission (February 28, 1920 - July 23, 1920), member of the board of the Nizhny Novgorod State Council of the Union of Land Workers (June 9, 1920 - November 24, 1920), member of the board of the Nizhny Novgorod State Council of the Union of Land and Forest Workers (November 24, 1920 - December 8, 1922) , a delegate to the V, VI, VII, IX and X provincial congress of SRKiKD, XI provincial conference of the RCP (b), II All-Russian Congress of the Union of Land and Forest Workers.

From January 1923 to June 1926 - Deputy People's Commissar for Agriculture of the Kazakh Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic [2] . Member of KazTSIK (1924-1926). In 1926-1930 - Deputy Head of the North Caucasus Regional Land Administration and Director of the North Caucasus Regional Trust of State Farms in Rostov-on-Don . In 1930-1933 - Director of the Novocherkassk Grain Institute .

From 1933 until his arrest in 1937, he was the director of the Krasnodar Higher Agricultural School (since 1936, the Krasnodar Agricultural Institute ).

Arrested on October 8, 1937 under article 58/10/11 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR, convicted on June 10, 1938, and executed on the same day. Rehabilitated by the Military Collegium of the USSR Armed Forces on January 22, 1957.

    • Daughter - Elena Stefanovna Karazhelyaskova, was married to engineer-architect Ilya Samuilovich Freidman. Their daughter is actress and theater teacher Juno Ilyinichna Kareva .
  • The second wife is Metta Karlovna Karpenko-Zavolzhskaya (1894, Libava - 1938, Krasnodar), a member of the CPSU (b) since 1924, assistant secretary of the newspaper "Nizhny Novgorod Commune", head. the editorial department of the newspaper "Soviet plowman" and Sevkavizdat. Arrested on November 4, 1937, shot on September 5, 1938 [3] .
