Kabolov, Valery Vladimirovich

Kabolov Valery Vladimir ( Osset. Kabolaty Valeri ; born October 11, 1958 in the village of Khataldon of the Alagirsky District of the Soviet Socialist Republic, RSFSR, USSR) is an entrepreneur and public figure. Chairman of the Council of the Moscow Ossetian community (national-cultural public organization) from 2004 to 2015 [1] [2] . Co-chairman of the Russian Congress of the Peoples of the Caucasus . Co-founder of the Charitable Foundation "Blagotvorets".

Biography

Kabolov Valery Vladimirovich was born on October 11, 1958 in the village of Khataldon of the Alagir district of the Soviet Socialist Republic in the family of an officer of the Soviet Army. He graduated from secondary school No. 50 in the city ​​of Ordzhonikidze (Vladikavkaz) with a gold medal, Moscow Institute of Management in 1982 with a degree in engineer-economist in management organization [2] . Candidate of Economic Sciences (defended his thesis in 2005 - on the topic "Demographic Potential and Employment in the Economic Development of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania)" [3] .

From 1982 to 1988, he worked in the Minavtotrans system of the RSFSR in the following positions: OTK mechanic on duty, process engineer, head of the convoy, head of the planning and production department, chief engineer of the enterprise, chief engineer of the production association [2] .

From 1988 to the present - an entrepreneur. Types of activity - construction, metal fabrication, development, consulting, agriculture, catering [2] .

In the 90s, Kabolov V.V., together with Batyrov K.A. and Khabliyev V.Kh. created the Charitable Foundation for Social Protection and the Development of the Culture of the Peoples of Ossetia “The Blagotvorets”. Among other things, the fund provided financial assistance to needy single pensioners - immigrants from Ossetia living in Moscow (fellow countrymen of all nationalities). The fund ceased operations in 2017 [4] .

In July 2009, employees of the private guard company Union GARD-1 burst into masks in a building owned by Kabolov in 1st Nikoloshchepovsky Lane , where his office was located. The police officers called to the place took a wait-and-see attitude, referring to the presence of the invaders' documents for the building allegedly sold by Kabolov to the new owner. The raider capture ended with a shootout from traumatic weapons, 23 people were detained by police. The building is returned to the owner [5] .

In 2016, Valery Kabolov and his son Inal were detained on charges of killing a driver of an Azerbaijani businessman with whom Kabolov had a property conflict [6] .

Activities in the Moscow Ossetian community

In 1994 he was elected a member of the Council of the Moscow Ossetian community, and in 2004 - chairman of the Council. He was elected to this position 5 times and left it in March 2015 , remaining in the Council as an ordinary member of the Council [7] .

Heading the Community Council, Kabolov Valery Vladimirovich instituted a prize of one thousand US dollars to every student of Moscow universities from Ossetia, regardless of nationality, who received a red diploma. Awarding usually took place on Freshman Day in the fall of each year [8] [9] . Also, the Moscow Ossetian community sent letters of appreciation to the parents of graduates of excellent students [10] .

After the 2011 presidential elections in South Ossetia, Valery Kabolov defended Alla Dzhioeva [11] . When the re-election was called, he called on candidates to cede her presidency in case of victory [12] .

In 2013, Valery Kabolov was at the center of the scandal over the meeting of some members of the Council of the Moscow Ossetian community with the Patriarch of Georgia Elijah II , who almost led to a split in the community [1] [13] [14] .

Family

Married in 1981. Has five children and four grandchildren [2] .
