The dictionary, which consists of two parts (the first part from "A" to "P", the second from "P" to "Z"), contains information about the life and work of Russian singers from the middle of the 18th century. until 1917. Ten years have passed since the beginning of work on the dictionary until the first volume of the publication. The first volume was published in 1991. However, the complete publication of the dictionary took another 9 years; the second volume was published in 2000. In total, the dictionary contains over 2000 entries. The circulation of each volume was 25,000 copies. Reviewers: E. E. Nesterenko , E. V. Obraztsova , E. Ya. Ratzer, G. I. Tits . In 2008, the second, revised and enlarged edition of the dictionary [1] was published in electronic form.
