It is located near the eastern border of the region, in the headwaters of the Bolshaya Vyazovka River (the upper tributary of the Chapaevka ) on the Sredny Syrt Upland, 15 km southeast of the village of Krasnoarmeyskoye and 65 km south of Samara . From the village, the highway leaves north to the village of Kochetkovsky (exit to the Krasnoarmeyskoye - Leninsky - A300 highway).
History
In 1973, by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, the village of branch No. 3 of the Lenin state farm was renamed Butkovsky [2] .
