Biography
Malcolm I, son of King Donald II , became king of Scotland in 943 after the abdication of his uncle Constantine II .

Most likely while Donald III continued to rule Strathclyde, but already as a vassal of the Scottish king. Malcolm continued to be an ally of the rulers of England after the death of Edmund who died in 946.
In 952, the Scots raided Northumbria , which was under the control of the Vikings , and advanced south to the River Tees , then returned, stealing a large number of prisoners and cattle.
Malcolm I died in 954, suppressing a revolt in Morea . He was buried on the island of Iona .
