Markell Voices is a Russian choir ensemble, founded in 1995 on the basis of the Novosibirsk State Philharmonic . Artistic Director - Igor Tyuvaev.

Title
The musical group is named after Markell Bezborodoroy , a Russian church composer, singer and hagiographer of the 16th century.
Repertoire
The repertoire of the ensemble is very diverse, it is based on the works of the pre-classical period. The Markell Voices pay great attention to sacred music: Russian, Western European and Georgian. In addition, the team performs the work of romantics, contemporary Russian and foreign authors. Many works performed by the collective in Novosibirsk were performed in Russia for the first time. These are such works as Missa Dolorosa and Mass and Magnificat by Antonio Caldara , Mass of Dei filii by Jan Dismas Zelenka , Mass of Western Wind by John Taverner , Mass of Pro de functis by Thomas Luis de Victoria .
Tour
The team is touring in Russia and other countries. In September 1997, the Markel Voices performed in Germany ( Düsseldorf , Orzoy), in January 1998 in the Small and Rachmaninov Hall of the Moscow Conservatory , in July 2000 at the Moscow Action festival, etc. The ensemble also takes part. in international music festivals held in Novosibirsk (“International Christmas Festival”, “Classics and Modernity”).
