Biography
He acted in films since 1938. Since 1940, he played on the stage.
During his career he played 76 film roles. He starred in films by leading French filmmakers - Sacha Guitry , Marcus Alegre , Julien Duvivier , Jean-Pierre Melville , Jose Giovanni , Claude Saute , Pierre Granier-Defer , Edouard Molinaro , Andre Cayatat , Alain Rob-Grillier and others. Played in genre films at Andre Yunnebel , Bernard Borderi , Maurice Cloche .
He is the author of the memoirs Revoir Alexandrie, plays Au théâtre ce soir (1973) and Madame ... pas dame (1983). As a director in 1946, he directed the play Le Roi sans amour at The Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord .
