The daughter of a physiologist, academician A. D. Speransky .
She graduated from the Physics Department of Moscow State University (1952) and worked there at the Department of Sea and Water Physics: assistant, teacher, senior lecturer, associate professor, professor, since 1994 a leading researcher in the Department of Sea and Water Physics at the Physics Department of Moscow State University.
Candidate dissertation - "Instrumental studies of turbulent exchange in fresh water" (1964), doctoral dissertation - "Boundary layers in geophysical hydrodynamics" (1984). In 1993, she was approved as a professor.
The main topic of scientific interests is the study of boundary layers in geophysics, where the formation of energy and matter exchange takes place, and the thermal regime of oceans, seas and water bodies is studied.
