" Honey " is a song by American singer Mariah Carey , which she produced together with Puff Daddy , Q-Tip and Stevie J for the sixth studio album of Carey Butterfly of 1997 . The song was released on the first single of the album on August 26, 1997 , received positive reviews and was a commercial success. She debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 American charts. “Honey” had two nominations for the Grammy Award (1997), in the categories For the best female vocal performance in the style of rhythm and blues and Best R & B Song .

History

The song received positive reviews from music critics and online publications: Entertainment Weekly [1] , Chris Nickson [2] , Slant [3] .

The song “Honey” was a lead single released from the album Butterfly , was a commercial success. As a result, “Honey” became the 12th hit # 1 in the singer’s musical career, according to the US chart Billboard Hot 100 , and the 3rd immediately debuted at the top of the chart (where she stayed for 3 weeks), Mariah became the first performer with the highest number of hits, immediately debuted at # 1 position in the USA. "Honey" entered the top five hits in countries such as Canada , New Zealand , Spain and the United Kingdom ; in top-10 in Australia and Sweden; and in top-20 in most charts of the world. In 1997, Honey received two Grammy nominations in the categories For Best Female Vocal Performance in the style of rhythm and blues [4] and Best R & B Song [5] .
