Nokou ( fr. Nokou ) is a city and a sub-prefecture in Chad , located in the region of Kanem . The administrative center of the North Canem department.

Geographical position
The city is located in the western part of Chad, on the border of the Sahel and the Sahara , at an altitude of 344 meters above sea level [1] . The locality is located approximately 268 kilometers north-north-west (NNW) from the capital of the country, N'Djamena .
Population
According to the official census of 2009, the population of Noku was 24,320 people (12,250 men and 12,070 women). The population of the sub-prefecture in the age range was distributed as follows: 46.8% - residents under 15 years old, 47.5% - between 15 and 59 years old and 5.7% - aged 60 years and older [2] .

The nearest is located in the city of Mao [1] .
