The settlement here was still in the XV - XVI centuries, since the documents of 1627-1628 marked the wasteland of Maleev - the possession of Prince A. N. Trubetskoy.
In the 1730s, the peasants of the neighboring village of Yarlukovo founded the village of Maley on the site of the wasteland. Also here settled odnodorski from the former city of Sokolsk .
In 1896, the St. George Church was built in Maleya [2] (
architectural monument (regional) ).
The name is of Finno-Ugric origin. In it, its second part is clear - lei , which means a river , a stream . The first part of ma is unclear, but it should mean the property of a river or stream. The Maleychik stream, on which the village stands, flows into the Matyr reservoir (formerly the Matyra River).
