Arthouse game

The arthouse game ( arthouse game [1] ) is the result of the work of an interactive computer software media art , a subgenre of computer games and belongs to the category of serious computer games . The term “art-house game” was first used in the scientific community in 2002 , and it was adopted as a description of a computer game designed to emphasize art, or a game designed for a specific reaction of its audience [2] . Arthouse games are interactive [3] (usually competing with the computer, the player himself or other players [4] ). The developers of these games often resort to deliberate differences from competing products to emphasize the unconventional look in the game, often distinguished by aesthetic beauty or the complexity of artistic design [5] .

The concept was expanded by some art critics in the field of " modified " games, when significant changes were made to earlier games that were not related to great art. The goal was to create graphical results with the goal of a visual result, as opposed to modifications, in which the emphasis is on the scripts and the narration of games. Modified games created for such artistic purposes are sometimes referred to as "artistic video games."

Art games are often considered a means of displaying video games as works of art.
