Description

The total length of representatives of this genus ranges from 45 to 60 cm. Outwardly, they are very similar to their closest relatives from the genus kalota - they differ only in a slightly more flattened body, an elongated head and smaller scales . Males on the spine in the front of the trunk have a developed crest of spines or elongated scales. Representatives of this genus are also distinguished by the size of these ridges. The tail is long, usually much longer than the body. The color is mainly green, olive, brownish or grayish in various shades. Throat bag in bright colors, especially in males.

Lifestyle

They live in wooded areas and thickets. Active during the day, feed on insects , especially crickets .

Reproduction

These are egg-laying lizards. Females lay up to 20 eggs.

Distribution

The range covers Southeast Asia. Some species are found only in the Nicobar and Andaman Islands or in the Philippines .
