The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Belarus (the Ministry of Energy ; the Belarusian Ministry of Energy and Energy of the Republic of Belarus ) is a republican government body that coordinates policies for the production and distribution of electricity, gas, steam and hot water. The post of minister since August 31, 2018 is occupied by Viktor Mikhailovich Karankevich .
Content
History
The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Belarus operates in 1992-1997 and since 2001. For the first time, the ministry was created by the resolution of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Belarus of January 10, 1992 No. 1389-XI [1] . On March 14, 1994, the Ministry of Energy was transformed into the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of the Republic of Belarus (Ministry of Fuel and Energy) [2] . The provision on the new ministry was approved by Resolution No. 122 of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of February 20, 1996. However, the following year the Ministry was abolished by decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of June 11, 1997 No. 328 and by the order of the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of the same day No. 60 The functions of the Ministry of Fuel and Energy were transferred to the Ministry of Economy and the concern Belenergo [1] .
Four years later, the Ministry of Energy was re-established by the decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of September 24, 2001 No. 516 [1] . On October 31, 2001, the Statute of the Ministry was approved [3] .
Structure
The structure of the central apparatus of the Ministry [4] :

- Department of Labor, Wages and Social Policy;
- Management of energy efficiency, ecology and science;
- Management of strategic development and external investment cooperation;
- Department of Nuclear Energy;
- 8 departments and 1 sector.
The Ministry of Energy submits three state organizations [5] :
- State Production Association of Electric Power Industry " Belenergo ";
- State Production Association for Fuel and Gasification " Beltopgas ";
- RUP " Belarusian NPP ".
