Yuraya Christopher Feiber ( Eng. Urijah Christopher Faber ; born May 14, 1979 , Islay Vista ) is an American fighter of mixed style , representing the lightest and semi-lightweight categories. He played at a professional level in the period 2003–2017, he is known for participating in tournaments of fighting organizations UFC , WEC , KOTC and others. He owned the WEC semi-lightweight champion title, four times was a contender for the UFC champion title. Member of the UFC Hall of Fame. Also known as the creator and leader of the fight team Team Alpha Male.

Biography
Yuraya Faber was born on May 14, 1979 in the settlement of Isla Vista , Santa Barbara County, California . His father, Theo, has Danish roots, and his mother Susannah — Italian , Irish, and English [1] . He spent his childhood in Lincoln , studied here in middle and high schools. Later he entered the University of California at Davis , where he received a bachelor's degree in human development. The university was seriously engaged in wrestling , in 2001 and 2002 he performed in the first division of the National University Sports Association .
Start of a professional career
He made his debut in mixed martial arts at the professional level in November 2003, with the help of the “ guillotine ” made his opponent surrender in the first round. He started his career in small American promotions Gladiator Challenge and King of the Cage - in both owned the titles of the champion in the lightest weight category.
He lost his first career in September 2005 while defending the Gladiator Challenge title, losing to Tyson Griffin by technical knockout.
World Extreme Cagefighting
Beginning in 2006, Faber regularly appeared in the large organization World Extreme Cagefighting , where he immediately became a semi-lightweight champion. He managed to defend the received championship belt five times, bringing the series of his victories to thirteen. His impressive winning streak ended only in November 2008, when he lost to Mike Brown by technical knockout, giving him his title.
In subsequent years, Faber tried unsuccessfully to regain the champion title, in the champion fights he went out in a cage against the same Mike Brown and Brazilian Jose Aldo , but in both cases he suffered defeat. Due to several losses I decided to go back to the lightest weight category [2] [3] [4] .
Ultimate Fighting Championship
When in 2010 the WEC organization was absorbed by a larger player in the mixed martial arts Ultimate Fighting Championship , all the strongest fighters from there automatically switched to a contract to the new owner, including Faber [5] .
Speaking in the UFC Octagon in the period 2011–2016, Juray Feiber a total of four times became a contender for the champion title, but none of these attempts were unsuccessful - twice lost to Dominic Cruz and twice to Renan Baran [6] [7] .
For outstanding sporting achievements in July 2017 was included in the UFC Hall of Fame.
In July 2019, he resumed his career and returned to the UFC Octagon, having won by technical knockout from Ricky Simon . I earned a bonus for the best performance of the evening.
Team Alpha Male
Back in 2004, Faber founded his own fighting team, Team Alpha Male, based in Ultimate Fitness in Sacramento . Over time, the team gained great popularity in the world of mixed martial arts, many famous professionals came from here, including TJ Dillashaw , Joseph Benavides , Chris Holdsworth , Chad Mendez , Paige Vanzant , Darren Elkins , Cody Garbrandt and others. Many of the team members took part in the 15 season of fighting reality show The Ultimate Fighter , where Faber was one of the mentors [8] . In 2012–2014, the post of Team Alpha Male head coach was held by Duane Ludwig , who was awarded the title of the best coach of the year during this period [9] . Since 2014, the team has been coached by UFC veteran Martin Kampmann [10] .
