Study and first years of service

In 1943, having passed the external examinations for secondary school, he entered the 1st Pavlov Leningrad Medical Institute. In the same year he was drafted into the army, served as a Red Army man on the Leningrad front, then as a medical assistant to the Military Hospital of the 23rd Army. In 1944 he resumed his studies, in 1949 he graduated with honors from the medical faculty and was left in clinical internship at the Department of Neuropathology. After residency, he was again drafted into the army, until 1952 he served as a specialist doctor of the battalion of the 31st aviation engineering division on Sakhalin, from 1952 to 1956 - chief of the battalion infirmary of the 76th air army of the Leningrad Military District, from 1956 to 1962. - Assistant Chief of the 76th Air Force LAM.

From 1962 to 1963 - served as head of the laboratory, leading physician at the space medicine laboratory in Gatchina, from 1963 to 1974 - headed the laboratory of neuropsychological stability testing at the Research Institute of Cosmonauts of the Air Force in Star City. In 1970, he defended his thesis "Clinic and Phenomenology of the Behavior of a Healthy Person in Longer Single-Chamber Seat Surges".

In 1974, O. N. Kuznetsov, at his request, was transferred to the Department of Psychiatry at the Leningrad Military Medical Academy . Until 1995 he was in charge of the psychological laboratory of the department. He developed a course of lectures on military medical psychology and a fundamentally new course of aerospace psychiatry. In 1996 he defended his doctoral thesis "Psychology and psychopathology of human adaptation to unusual conditions of existence."

Son - Vladimir (graduated from Moscow State University , PhD), grandson Nikolai (graduated from St. Petersburg State University , Doctor of Science). Daughter - Tatiana (graduated from St. Petersburg State University philfak ), granddaughter Anastasia (graduated from Polytech ).
