Biography

Born on June 30, 1930 in Moscow . She spent her childhood in Leningrad , where her father was a party worker [3] . During the war, she was with her mother in evacuation in Kazakhstan, first in Semipalatinsk , then in Alma-Ata [3] . From 1943 to 1948 she lived in Chelyabinsk , where her father was appointed second secretary of the town party regional committee [3] .

A graduate of the Chelyabinsk school number 1 [3] .

In 1954 she graduated with honors from the Medical Faculty of the First Moscow Order of the Lenin Medical Institute (1st MOLMI) , she entered the internship in therapy [3] .

She worked as an ophthalmologist at the Bryansk Regional Eye Hospital [3] , then as an ophthalmologist at Moscow Clinical Hospital No. 36 [3] .

She graduated from the clinical internship of the Moscow Eye Clinical Hospital [3] and remained to work there as an ophthalmologist. In 1965 she defended her thesis [4] .

In 1970 she defended her doctoral thesis [3] . In 1980 she received the title of professor.

From 1970 to 2004 she worked at the Moscow Helmholtz Research Institute of Eye Diseases , where she went from being a senior researcher to the head of the ophthalmological and oncological service and in 1976 organized the country's first scientific and clinical department of ophthalmo-oncology and radiology [5] , which developed modern methods of early diagnostics and treatment of the most severe pathology [6] , and also supervised and coordinated the work of 12 regional centers throughout the country. Since 2003, the city center of ophthalmo-oncology, headed by A. F. Brovkina, is located in the structure of the Moscow Eye Clinical Hospital in Mamonovsky Lane , 7, which is a scientific, educational and medical base of RMANPO [7] [8] .

He works as a professor at the Department of Ophthalmology [2] with a course in pediatric ophthalmology and orbital pathology at the Russian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education .

Family

Husband - Nesterov, Arkady Pavlovich [3] (1923–2009), ophthalmologist , academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Honored Scientist of the RSFSR.

Scientific Activities

A.F. Brovkina is the author of more than 420 scientific papers [1] , of which 18 books [1] , monographs and textbooks for students of medical universities. Under her leadership, completed 32 PhDs [1] and 10 doctoral [1] dissertations in ophthalmic oncology and orbital pathology.
