The tournament "Rostelecom Cup 2018" is the fifth stage of the Grand Prix in figure skating of the season 2018-2019 . Competitions were held in Moscow (for the 17th time) from November 16 to 18, 2018 [1] . The tournament is organized by the Russian Figure Skating Federation with the support of the ISU . Competitions were held in the Megasport arena. Athletes performed in the following categories: men's and women 's singles, pair figure skating and ice dancing .

Failed Members
Immediately after the lineups were announced in June, Armenian dancers Tina Garabedian and Simon Pru-Senecal announced their withdrawal from the tournament due to the breakup of the pair. They will be replaced by the Japanese Misato Komatsubara and Timothy Coleto . Soon after the distribution of the participants in stages, the Italian loner Maurizio Zandron was removed from the tournament due to quarantine, which was introduced due to the change of sports citizenship [2] . He will be replaced by Australian skater Brendan Kerry . In mid-July, the whole sports world was shocked by the murder of Kazakh loner Denis Ten , who was also supposed to perform at this tournament [3] . He will be replaced by Malaysian skater Julian Yi Ji Jie . In mid-August, due to the breakup of the couple, Japanese dancers Kana Muramoto and Chris Reed starred. Chris Ellison Reid and Saulius Ambrulevičius (representing Lithuania ) will perform in their stead . In early November, the Japanese skater Wakaba Higuchi withdrew from the tournament [4] . 8 days before the start of the tournament, an American pair of dancers Madison Chock and Evan Bates starred [5] . November 12, it became known that the American Karen Chen [6] withdrew from the tournament. Three days before the start of the competition, German athlete Nicole Schott starred [7] . Russian Andrei Lazukin will replace Alexei Erokhov [8] . American sports couple Deanna Stellato and Nathan Bartholomew withdrew from the free program, due to the poor health of the partner [9] .
